Winter in Pammukale

If you can find time to get to Pammukale, you must. It is an incredible landscape. Climb up the white travertines… barefoot. No shoes allowed. The water flowing down the hillside is bathwater warm and in the summer you can climb right into the travertines and lounge.

At the top is Hierapolis this incredible ancient city, with no partitions around the ruins. You’re free to climb, touch and inspect all you want. The Turks, it seems, aren’t really up on the idea of preservation.
